Just who are the working class? The middle class work too, so instead of ‘class’ maybe we should draw the distinction between those who work, and those who manage. Unfortunately, the further up the greasy pole of management you go, the further removed you become from those who work: the people who actually create the wealth.

And what is wealth exactly? Whatever it is, it all comes from the planet we live on: wealth starts in the ground (or the sea) but it’s useless until transformed into something useful or desirable by human ingenuity and physical labour. But the irony is that the people who claim to be ‘wealth creators’, have little or no regard for the planet, or the people who make them rich.

Hoi Polloi – that’s us: ‘the many’ – outnumber the 0.1% by a thousand to one, and the logic of democracy dictates we should be in control of our own destiny. But the aristocracy and their toadies have been fighting a rearguard action to reverse or undermine democracy, ever since we finally got it in 1918 after about 300 years of near-revolution and a world war.

If you refuse to vote, you’re playing directly into the hands of an elite minority who don’t want you to vote. What you need to do is listen to my History of Democracy, because if you knew how much blood, sweat and tears were shed so you could vote… you would vote. I guarantee it.

The majority of people on this planet have been dictated to by a tiny minority for at least the last five thousand years. It’s been going on for so long we think it’s the natural order of things. It isn’t, and if you refuse to vote, you’re playing directly into the hands of an elite minority who don’t want you to vote. So why not piss them off by taking an interest in your own affairs, and those of your children and grandchildren?
